VB400 Lighting Control: The World's Most Advanced HID Lighting Control

The VB400 Lighting Control is an aggregate energy management system that helps lighting users in all industries meet existing energy codes - such as California's Title 24 - and prepare for future energy conservation legislation. The unsurpassed energy savings the VB400 Lighting Control provides has been recognized by Southern California Edison and other utility companies that are offering rebates to VB400 users.

There are two versions of the VB400 energy-saving lighting control: The VB400 and VB400N. Both models are intelligent HID lighting controls, each containing a ballast and microprocessor that regulates the current flow for nearly every type of HID lamp - metal halide, high-pressure sodium and pulse start.

  • The VB400 is controlled with a digital display on the unit itself, enabling the site engineer to manipulate settings via the unit or from a remote computer. Due to the digital display on the unit, LCS software is not required for the VB400 model.
  • The VB400N does not contain a display, making it ideal for larger buildings where access to the lighting units is limited and/or difficult. Additional software is required to control the VB400N.

The microprocessor-based VB400 and VB400N models provide superior lamp performance while extending the life of the lamp. They also feature dimming and timing controls and include thermal monitoring, lamp life readout and a smooth end-of-life shutdown process.

The microprocessor in the VB400 and VB400N enables the user to monitor and control thousands of lamps from a desktop, laptop or hand-held computer over a wired or wireless Ethernet network. This enables site engineers to program lighting scenes, dim HID lamps, create lighting schedules, plan preventive maintenance programs and identify parts to be replaced - all without costly and bulky add-on wires and components.

VB400 and VB400N features:

  • Instant demand response
  • Aggregate control
  • Universal input voltages (90V to 300V)
  • Variable output wattages (200W to 430W)
  • Compatible with multiple lamp types (MH, HPS and PS)
  • Lightweight
  • Small footprint
  • Compliant with TUV / UL
  • Class A indoor noise rating
  • Regulated line voltage for non-flickering, constant lumen output
  • Reduced air conditioning demand with thermal control
  • Automatic timer
  • Controlled start-up and shut-down to extend lamp and ballast life
  • Indoor and outdoor use
  • Designed for temperature, humidity and air pressure extremes
  • Scheduled maintenance and replacement (lamps and ballasts identified before they fail)
  • Meets existing and proposed energy-efficiency guidelines
